傑森和強尼第一天正式上課, 應該還算ok.
08:40到校, 教室門還沒有開, 學生就都在教室外排隊等待. 等到老師開教室門, 大家都很有秩序的走進教室, 老師在門口一一和小朋友道早安!
之後, 14:30去接他們下課, 他們也是在教室排好隊, 才依序走出教室放學.
我們迫不及待的問兩個小孩, How is today? 今天過得還可以嗎?
傑森說: "還好啊! 我有些聽得懂, 有些聽不懂, 有一段時間有一個老師還叫我去測驗英文."
(我想應該是了解傑森的英文程度, 因為之後會特別安排上英文課 ESL (English as Second Language)."
傑森說: "我早上還在講中文 (因為有華人同學), 但下午我就開始敢用英文講話了."
(嗯, 真是太好了!)
強尼說: "我只聽得懂 It's snack time. (點心時間到囉)" (嗯, 果真聽得懂最重要的部分)
強尼說: "啊, 其他我都聽不懂, 我都沒說話, 只用搖頭和點頭" (嗯, 很好, 至少願意回應同學和老師)
強尼說: "哈, 他們(同學)很好笑, 到很後面才知道我不會說英文"
(奇怪ㄡ, 若真聽不懂, 怎會知道同學在說這個....嘿)
傑森的班上有一些華人, 所以他可能心理壓力小一些, 不過我想他非常勇敢, 也很願意用英文和大家溝通, 值得鼓勵 拍拍手.
強尼的班上應該沒有人會說中文, 因為大都是白人, 韓國人和印度小朋友; 這樣也好, 也許幾天搖頭點頭之後就會幾哩呱啦囉!
(朋友一直和我們說不用擔心, 一陣子後他們的英文就會突飛猛進, 而且發音都會比我們好.)

Yeap, also hope the "keep silent" is just for a while...
although have tried to encourage him that he should at least "respond" to teacher and classmates...
haaa... not to worry. there will be a day you start to wish they don't forget Chinese.. haaa...
